Aromatherapy

I chose to incorporate Aromatherapy into my sessions in order to promote physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being.

Essential Oils are substances that occur naturally in a variety of plants and trees growing throughout the world.

Each of the plant essences are extracted from a single botanical source.

Essential oils are highly aromatic, via the olafactory nerves, and they affect, among other partsshutterstock_215886310 of the brain, the limbic system one of the most primative regions of consciousness.  The scent of an oil makes a vital contribution to its natural healing properties.  It is the unique combination of the plants chemical constituents that determine its synergy ( the action it produces) of the therapeutic effects and its aroma.  These cannot be imitated by a chemical mixture that is produced in a lab.  It would be impossible to reproduce each minute constituent that contributes to the aroma of a natural essential oil, nor conceivable that such a chemical cocktail would possess the life force of the authentic porduct.

The word ” essential ” is used to show the intrinsic nature of the essence of the plant, and “oil” is used to indicate a liquid that is insoluable in water.

The effects of aromatherapy depend on penetration through the skin or through inhalation.  Although essential oils are tools of gentle therapy, they have the power to reach deep into the psyche, and both relax the mind and uplift the spirit.
